The United States decided to escalate its imperialist offensive on Latin America, attacking Venezuela and sending a fierce warning to all the peoples of the continent. In the face of this aggressive neocolonialist interference, condemnatory statements or abstract calls for peace are not enough: let’s build a massive anti-imperialist response!

The international socialist feminist movement Bread and Rosespresent in the United States, in Venezuela (where we have been part of the movements that took to the streets demanding the right to abortion and against sexist violence during the governments of Chavez and Maduro) and in more than a dozen countries in Latin America and Europe, proposes to all feminist and sexual diversity movements that, in each of our territories, Let us demand from the union centers and social and political movements the call for a continental strike of the working class and the poor people..

Let us unite these social forces, with the workers and fighters at the head, who in addition to being the most precarious and oppressed wage slaves, with their unpaid work maintain and defend, in our Latin American territories, the sovereignty over natural goods, from capitalist plunder and plunder. Especially with immigrant and racialized workers, our exploited sisters in the heart of the United States, also victims of persecution, criminalization and mass deportations dictated by Trump, with brutal ICE operations such as the one that, on January 7, claimed the life of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis, a short distance from where George Floyd had been murdered by the police in 2020.
Let us put all our efforts into building a continental strike and an international day of struggle and mobilization to stop the imperialist aggression that seeks to redouble the extractivist plunder of the region. Yankee imperialism out of Venezuela and Latin America!

Bread and Roses makes this proposal, from an independent position with respect to the authoritarian Maduro regime, where Delcy RodrĂguez currently occupies the government, by decision negotiated with Donald Trump himself. But, just as last August we joined the international demands for the freedom, in Caracas, of the human rights defender and leftist activist Martha LĂa Grajales and we repudiated the attacks by the Maduro regime’s police against the group. Mothers in Defense of the Truthwe do not recognize the North American imperialist state, neither its government nor its justice nor its repressive forces, the slightest right to kidnap and try Nicolás Maduro and his companion Cilia Flores. An invading imperialist government that, shamelessly, has already pointed out that it is only interested in oil, negotiating under its leonine conditions, with the Venezuelan regime itself, can bring nothing good for women and the entire Venezuelan people. Therefore, with the only and modest authority that the coherence of our struggle gives us, we also demand: Immediate freedom for Maduro and Cilia Flores!

Nor does anything unite us with the right-wing sepoy of MarĂa Corina Machado, who acts as a direct agent of imperialism who, with a cynical Nobel Peace Prize in hand, demands to massacre her own people. In each of our countries, Bread and Roses It is part of the struggles and mobilizations of feminisms, the working class and the poor people who confront the imperialist governments, the Latin American sepoy governments and those who remained silent and were complicit in this aggression in Venezuela, as they did before in the face of the genocide in Gaza. Displaying anti-imperialist flags, also from the feminist and sexual diversity movements, will strengthen the fight for our rights attacked by the extreme right (whether Trump or his allies in the region), who chose us as the target of their hate speeches.

By uniting our mobilization and our struggle from the south of Latin America to the United States and throughout the world, we will be invincible in the demand for Imperialism out of Venezuela and Latin America! Stop criminalizing and persecuting migrants in the United States! Long live the mobilization and the international anti-imperialist struggle!
