Given the cases of “easy trigger” in the City of Buenos Aires, a hearing was held this Tuesday in the vicinity of the Buenos Aires Legislature. The city’s macrismo denied family members and human rights organizations a place to carry out the same, which is why it had to be carried out on the street.
The city police murdered two people in the last week. The first incident took place in the 20th neighborhood of Lugano on December 25, where Gabriel González was murdered by members of the City Police. The second episode occurred on December 28 in the Constitución neighborhood, where Leonardo Vargas was seriously injured after being shot by the same force and remains in critical condition. The cases were quickly spread on social networks, which allowed the ruling party’s attempts to defend the police to be disarmed.
The hearing was called by the PTS/ FIT-U legislator, Andrea D’Atri, together with the Fuerza legislators for Buenos Aires, Salvatierra and Labunda. Legislators with completed mandates also participate: Victoria Montenegro, Alejandrina Barry (daughter of disappeared people) and Gabriel Solano.

CEPRODH, CORREPI, CELS, APDH and Carlos “Sueco” Lordkipanidse, ESMA survivor, participated from the Human Rights organizations and personalities. Present for the workers’ organizations were Jorge Godoy, Secretary of Human Rights of UTE, and members of the Ademys board of directors.
In addition, student centers were present: Directors and Directors of the Normal 1 Student Center, Director of the Joaquín V. González, President of the Alicia M. Justo Student Center and the General Secretary of the Philosophy and Letters Student Center.

EASY TRIGGER IN CABA: WIDE POLITICAL AND HR ARC HOLDS PUBLIC HEARING
After the PRO’s refusal to allow the family and friends of Gabriel González to enter the Legislature, a public hearing was held at the door denouncing the execution of the resident of Villa Lugano on December 25.
Promoted by deputy Andrea D’Atri (PTS/Frente de Izquierda) and with the presence of legislators from Fuerza por Buenos Aires, a wide range of political personalities, human rights organizations and teaching unions, accompanied the family demanding justice and an end to repression and police harassment in popular neighborhoods.
At the opening, D’Atri denounced the double discourse of the authorities of the Legislature: “We have to meet here at the entrance, because in this same building in which during this year they allowed events with deniers and former soldiers of the criminal Operation Independence, they deny entry to the family of a neighbor murdered by the City Police at Christmas.” In addition, he presented the request for interpellation to the Minister of Security, Horacio Giménez, which he promoted together with legislators Vanina Biasi (PO/FIT-U) and Alejandro “Pitu” Salvatierra and Andrés La Blunda (Fuerza por Buenos Aires).
For her part, the legislator (MC) and daughter of the disappeared, Alejandrina Barry, linked police violence with the economic situation: “Jorge Macri represses in the neighborhoods while Milei wants us to be slaves at work. This situation was not a coincidence, in 48 hours there was a new case of trigger-happy in Constitución and today Leonardo Vargas is fighting for his life. The police officer who killed Gabriel must be in prison now, and the political leaders must show their faces.”
The most emotional moment involves Gabriel González’s relatives. Nelly Portillo, Gabriel’s wife, said: “They took away the companion of my entire life, I need you to continue accompanying me so that there is justice.” While Oscar, a teacher and cousin of the victim, stated: “I speak of Gabriel in the present tense. He is a bricklayer, he gives work to the kids in the neighborhood so that they can get out of problematic consumption. He is a friend and he is a father. He is present and we will continue for him.”
The hearing had massive support from representatives who joined the claim, including Fabian Grillo, Pablo’s father. Also an important delegation from the Fuerza bloc for Buenos Aires in addition to former legislators Gabriel Solano and Victoria Montenegro, daughter of missing persons; referents of CELS, Correpi, CeProDH, APDH, the survivors of the last dictatorship Carlos “Sueco” Lordkipanidse and Osvaldo Barros and different human rights organizations and the Truth and Justice Memory Meeting. Representatives of the teaching unions UTE and Ademys, directors and directors of student centers of CABA teachers, the general secretary of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters (UBA) and social organizations also came.
