South Korean mathematician YoungHoon Kim, according to some the smartest man on earth with an IQ of 276, is causing a stir in the crypto world. He predicts that XRP will become bigger than Ethereum (ETH) by market cap before 2026.
This striking statement once again sharpens the well-known tension between hype and actual value within the crypto market.
XRP herwint momentum
Kim sees that the cards for XRP have been shaken considerably in recent months. According to him, a combination of renewed interest from institutions, technical links with other networks and legal clarity around Ripple creates a fresh growth dynamic.
“In my view, XRP could be bigger than Ethereum by market cap by 2026,” he wrote on X, although he added that it was not financial advice.
To truly overtake Ethereum, XRP needs to more than triple its current market value.
From Bitcoin maximalist to XRP fan
It is striking that Kim was known for years as an outspoken supporter of Bitcoin (BTC). Now he speaks confidently about XRP. He calls the coin “structurally undervalued” and points to the recent collaboration with Solana (SOL) as an important step towards greater flexibility and usability. “Those connections can change the entire playing field,” says Kim.
His predictions go one step further. According to Kim, it is not inconceivable that XRP will reach a price of 100 dollars within five years. That sounds ambitious, but his message is clear: anyone who underestimates XRP could well be wrong.
