Versan Aljarrah, founder of Black Swan Capitalist, foresees an increasing role for Ripple (XRP) as a link in global payment infrastructure. According to him, the digital asset is uniquely positioned for direct cross-border transactions and could see a significant market move in the next 6 to 24 months.
Fast international payments with Ripple technology
Aljarrah emphasizes that RippleNet and On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) offer a solution to the traditional financial system. In this current system, institutions often lock up money in multiple locations to enable international transactions. By converting local currency into XRP, banks could make direct payments without intermediaries. The receiving party converts the XRP into local currency, which Aljarrah says leads to cost savings and more efficient settlement.
He points out that this technology is already operational in regions such as Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East, where millions of dollars of value are moved every day. According to him, this underlines the functional use of XRP in practice.
Legal clarity accelerates adoption
According to Aljarrah, legal certainty is the decisive factor for large-scale adoption. He refers to Ripple’s licenses in Singapore, the European Union and the United Arab Emirates, among others.
These legal frameworks give banks confidence to integrate XRP into their infrastructure. Aljarrah also points to the role of central banks, which are testing Ripple’s technology for central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). Ripple would make a private ledger available for this that meets the requirements for privacy and compliance.
Aljarrah states that XRP is becoming a fundamental part of global real-time payments. According to him, the value of the token comes from actual use: the more banks and institutions need XRP for liquidity, the greater the demand. With a potential daily transaction volume of $1 trillion, this could generate $100 billion in demand for XRP. Aljarrah concludes: “XRP is no longer a token, but an infrastructure.”
