Judge Juan Carlos Peinado has announced that the wife of the government president, his assistant and the Government delegate in Madrid will be tried, when the time comes, before a popular jury accused of a crime of embezzlement of public flows. In a car in which the judge does not detail the facts he attributes to Begoña Gómez and before even opening an oral trial, cites the three in his court next Saturday to inform them and that they can make allegations.
According to the regulations of the Jury Court, it is the judge’s movement when he understands that an accused can become tried for a crime competence of a popular jury. In this case, the embezzlement attributed to Gomez and the other two accused of the works of his assistant.
Happy investigates for more than a year and a half to Begoña Gómez in several causes after a first complaint of clean hands with press clippings and a bully. Hajinado justifies this step in the fact that the Provincial Court of Madrid gave Luz Verde to continue investigating, in which Gomez did not want to answer all the questions and, finally, explains that a week ago he received the emails that Juan Carlos Dadrio, Vice Chancellor of the UCM, crossed with Álvarez. Now, he understands, “the requirement of the likelihood of the facts is met, which until now, could not be determined in a concrete way.”
The judge, who in recent months has seen how the courts have endorsed some of their lines of investigation but have limited the majority, takes this step after the Supreme Court threw on land its intention to impute Minister Félix Bolaños for the hiring of Álvarez. Convene the three accused this Saturday in their court at six in the afternoon for one of the necessary procedures in the cases that will be judged before a jury court: to specify the imputation that weighs on them.
In his last appearance before the judge, Begoña Gómez explained that his assistant made him a “favor” by sending some of those emails, but that in no case was a job or replaced his duties in the Moncloa Palace. A figure with which all the wife of the different government presidents have historically counted. The current PP deputy, Jaime de los Santos, did this work for Elvira ‘Viri’ Fernández, wife of Mariano Rajoy.
