The judge who investigates the subdivision of contracts in the construction of FP buildings in the previous government of Isabel Díaz Ayuso has issued a resolution for which he calls to declare as a witness to Coral Báez, current director of the territorial area Madrid capital in the Ministry of Education and responsible for that area at the time when the possible prevarication that is now being investigated and that uncovered eldiario.es.
Justice investigates why and under what orders the Ministry of Education built, between 2021 and 2023, at least ten FP centers and teacher training without contract, outside the budget, without official file and without passing any economic control. At least two of the cases were sent to the Prosecutor’s Office given the indications that there could be a crime of corruption. The Fiscal Ministry described it as a “rude omission of the procedure.” At the time the events occurred, the Ministry of Education Enrique Ossorio, today president of the Madrid Assembly. His number two was Rocío Albert López-Ibor, heavyweight of the PP, from FAES and today Minister of Economy and Finance of Ayuso. In addition, the judge has also called to declare as a witness José María Serrano Adaner, deputy director of Secondary Education Centers.
So far, the current Ministry (in the hands of Emilio Viciana) has disregarded this irregular procedure and at the time responsible for the former FP -director of FP, Alfonso Mateos, accused and has already declared in court. Mateos said that the hiring system has been this “always”, that works such as operating expenses that were not operational and defended themselves evidencing that constructions in educational centers were not within their competence, but from the infrastructure department and territorial management. In this case, disbursements came out from three different public accounts: the Antonio Machado Institute, the Art School and the Professional Music Conservatory. eldiario.es has accredited another eight centers in which millionaire works have not been tendered, including one of the postpandymal star projects of the president of the community: the center of Distance FP Ignacio Ellacuría.
The current Ministry opened an investigation and sent the case to the prosecution before the seriousness of the facts. A complaint by Podemos opened the case in an instructional court, which brought together a cause in which the PSOE, more Madrid and Workers Commissions have been filed as an accusation.
