For a long time we knew that the Midnight (Night) AirDrop was coming. It is one that many investors are looking forward to, because a huge number of crypto owners have a chance to win free tokens. After a long wait we now finally have the redeeming word and we know how to claim your tokens.

This is how you claim your Night tokens

The official Midnight Channel announced this afternoon on X that the ‘Glacier Drop’ is finally live. Everyone has 60 days to claim his/her share.

Whether you are eligible for free tokens depends on which crypto you owned on 11 June 2025. Then a snapshot was made. Addresses on a large number of block chains, including Cardano (ADA), Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL) and even XRP have a chance. You had to have at least 100 dollars in native tokens on one of the supported block chains.

This is how the tokens are divided:

• 50 percent of the 24 billion night tokens is for ADA holders
• 20 percent for BTC holders
• 30 percent is distributed over the other blockchain networks

Then of course the most important question: how do you claim the coins? For that you go to the official Midnight Claim Portal. You then enter the wallet address that contained tokens on 11 June on one of the aforementioned block chains. It is then checked whether you indeed meet the conditions. Finally, give up a cardano wallet where the tokens must be sent

A comment is that your tokens are initially frozen. They are then released in four bundles of 25 percent, each after 90 days. Only after almost a year do you actually have access to all your tokens, and you can do what you want with it.

Wat is Midnight?

Midnight is a privacy -oriented blockchain developed by Input Output Global (IOG), the same team behind Cardano. The purpose of Midnight is to enable users to protect sensitive data, while they can still use the benefits of a public blockchain.

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson rather called the Midnight project “one of the greatest events ever” within the Cardano ecosystem.

This offers numerous possibilities for industries that would consider blockchain, but for which privacy is also extremely important. Consider, for example, the storage of medical or legal data on the blockchain.

The Night token is not the only coin on the platform. Midnight also uses the dust token. Night is the governance and utility token of Midnight, with which users can vote, participate in strike and gain access to functions within the network.

Dust, on the other hand, is the transaction smoke. Just like ETH on Ethereum or Ada on Cardano, Dust is used to pay transaction costs on the Midnight network.
