With more than 100 million members, rapid growth reveals a party aware of diversity, the formation of its staff and the strengthening of its network throughout the Chinese territory


In a milestone that further reinforces its political and social influence in the country, the Communist Party of China (CCP) has reached the impressive mark of 100.27 million members At the end of 2024, according to data recently released by the Department of Organization of the Party Central Committee. The number represents an increase of almost 1.09 million affiliates compared to the previous year and is a direct reflection of the continuous effort of the CCP to expand its base and renew its ranks.

The disclosure occurred in the wake of the preparation for the 104th anniversary of the party’s foundationcelebrated traditionally on July 1st. The official report pointed out that the party structure has undergone a constant improvement, with the so -called primary organizations – the party’s local nuclei spread across the country – increasingly strengthening.

According to the document, by the end of 2024, the CCP had 5.25 million local organizationsa growth of 74 thousand units compared to 2023.

This expansion is not only in the number of affiliates, but also in the quality and diversity of new members. Among professional groups, workers and farmers continue to represent about one third of party memberswhich demonstrates that, despite the advance between the most educated layers of the population, the CCP maintains its historical bond with the popular classes.

Beyond numerical growth and generational renewal, the report emphasized the party’s role in strict self -management and in the maintenance of high ethical and political standards. According to the text, the CCP has applied rigid selection and conduct criteriapromoting internal reforms and investing in the strengthening of the party’s local cells.
