Russian Foreign Deputy Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Wednesday that eventual direct military assistance from the United States would have potential to completely destabilize the Middle East, where the armed confrontation between Iran and Israel already enters the sixth day.

According to Russian news agency Interfax, Ryabkov warned that even the US consideration of alternatives in this sense already represents a risk factor for the escalation of the conflict. “This would be a measure that would radically destabilize the whole situation,” said the diplomat, according to the Russian vehicle.

The statement occurs amid the intensification of the Air War between Tehran and Tel Aviv, which began after Israeli attacks against Iranian military facilities, including nuclear targets and strategic leaders. In response, Iran launched projectiles and drones towards Israeli cities, following the cycle of offensive involving the two nations.

In a parallel demonstration, Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), Sergei Careryshkin, also evaluated the scenario as a critic. Although details about his statement have not been disclosed in full, his position reinforces the concern expressed by the Russian government regarding the deepening of the conflict.

Concern about US stance grew after reports that Washington would be analyzing different intervention strategies.

According to a source familiar with internal US government discussions, former President Donald Trump and his team consider a series of possibilities, including active participation in attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities.

Still on Tuesday, 17, Trump published messages on social networks in which he considered the elimination of the Iranian Supreme Leader, Aiatola Ali Khamenei. “Let’s not eliminate it (kill!), At least not for now,” wrote the former president, generating reactions between analysts and international authorities.

The Russian government has been opposed to the Israeli offensive, which began last Friday with bombing against Iranian nuclear centers, scientists and military commanders.

The attack was classified by Moscow as not provoked and illegal. In response, Iran has executed missile and drone releases over Israeli cities, expanding bilateral confrontation.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, who in January signed a strategic partnership agreement with Tehran, also spoke out.

The Kremlin chief appealed for the immediate end of hostilities between the two countries and summoned the parties involved to resume the dialogue. Russia has sought to maintain a balance position in the region, but reinforces its alliance with Iran on strategic and military subjects.

Moscow’s statements take place amid international debate on the possibility of direct involvement of external powers in the crisis.

The alerts issued by Russian authorities suggest that any US military intervention alongside Israel would be interpreted as a factor of imbalance for the entire region.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Security Council should call a new extraordinary meeting to deal with the climb.

Several member countries have been expressing concern about the possibility of the conflict to expand to other Middle East territories, involving actors such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and Iran -coupled militias in Iraq and Syria.

Experts in Geopolitics and International Security note that the current stage of the confrontation differs from previous episodes by directly involving nuclear infrastructures and by gathering public statements from state bosses on lethal actions, such as Trump.

Analysts also point out that the position of the United States can influence the outcome of the conflict. Although the current US government maintains a more cautious stance, speculation around logistical, air or strategic support Israel remains closely monitored by countries such as China, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

On Israeli soil, the Defense Forces (IDF) are still in operation, while the civilian population remains under reinforced safety instructions, with enabled shelters and expanded patrolling in urban centers. Iran’s authorities say they will continue to respond to any attack considered provocation.

The crisis also directly impacts energy and safety markets. The price of oil has recorded sharp variations since the beginning of hostilities, with investors attentive to the significant region of the overall oil production.

To date, there are no concrete indications of ceasefire. The permanence of threats, hostile statements and military movements suggest that the conflict may last in the coming days. Diplomatic reactions and strategic decisions of global powers should play a decisive role in containing or expanding the crisis.
