The United Arab Emirates quickly gain ground as a new center of the crypto world. During the Token2049 conference in Dubai, Tron founder Justin Sun called the city “the new crypto-capital”. More and more big names from the industry are therefore choosing to move their activities to the Gulf state.

Tron and Ripple focus on Dubai

“Everyone who matters in Crypto is already here,” said Justin Sun during the event. With that he refers to major players such as Binance, Bybit and a growing number of Web3 projects that embrace Dubai as a strategic hub. Sun itself is actively expanding Tron (TRX) to the region. According to him, this is not a temporary trend, but a thoughtful move towards sustainable growth.

Tron is currently working on obtaining local licenses and is planning to significantly expand his team in the region. According to Sun, everything is about Dubai as a core region for the worldwide adoption of his blockchain in the coming years.

Other companies also follow this example. For example, Ripple (XRP) announced new collaborations in Dubai with Zand Bank and the Fintech company Mamo. Both parties will use Ripple’s infrastructure for fast, cross -border payments. The deals come shortly after the approval of Ripple by supervisor DFSA in the Dubai International Financial Center.

Stablecoins and the success of Tron in 2024

During his presentation, Justin Sun emphasized the importance of Stablecoins in the new digital economy. According to him, Stablecoins are crucial for global adoption of blockchain technology. Tron appears to play a leading role in this.

In 2024, the Tron network processed more than 5 trillion dollars to stablecoin transactions. In 2025, Sun expects this amount to rise to 7 trillion dollars. The majority of those transactions take place with USDT on Tron, which in terms of volume now leaves competitors like Visa behind.
