And what happens to those dollars that are supposed to be saved? Well, according to what was expressed by Massa and applauded by the crowd that gathered at the event, including Juan Grabois, they will be used to pay the illegal and legitimate and unpayable debt with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). It is unheard of that this gas pipeline, which should be a reason for development and benefit for our country, ends up being used to line the pockets of international financial organizations while our communities suffer the consequences.
In addition, it is important to mention that the second section of the gas pipeline will soon begin, which will take the gas to northern Argentina and Brazil. This, supposedly, will allow us to obtain new income in the form of dollars. However, where do you think those dollars are going? Exactly, once again they will go to the same Fund, further deepening our country’s dependence.
Regarding the environmental impact, we cannot ignore the terrible methods used in the exploitation of Vaca Muerta, such as fracking. This method, prohibited in many parts of the world, involves the destruction of large amounts of drinking water and has serious consequences for regional economies and communities, including our Mapuche brothers and sisters.
It is unfortunate to see how the inauguration of this gas pipeline is celebrated while our schools explode due to lack of natural gas and our houses burn down due to lack of supply. Meanwhile, production records are applauded and the harsh reality we face at home is ignored.
From the Socialist Workers Party (PTS)we propose a clear alternative for the energy sector. We believe that the entire hydrocarbon industry should be nationalized and placed under the control of the workers, users and affected communities. In addition, we must move towards the rational use of energy and a transition towards clean sources.

There I witnessed the resistance of the indigenous communities against the lithium business, a resource on which the eyes of great international powers have been set. The indigenous communities have risen up in defense of their lands and their rights, leading a teachers’ strike and roadblocks that have demonstrated the unity of various sectors against the constitutional reform proposed by Gerardo Morales, neither more nor less than the vice candidate of HR Larreta.

The inauguration of the Néstor Kirchner gas pipeline is nothing more than an episode of looting in disguise. It is time to raise the left and fight for a future that belongs to all of us.
