Before the meeting, Lula said that he intends to discuss with the pontiff ways to end the war between Ukraine and Russia. He still said that he wants to invite the Pope to visit Brazil and accompany the Círio de Nazaré, in October, in Belém.
Even today, the petista already met with the president of Italy, Sergio Mattarella. It is worth mentioning that the Brazilian president started the day of meetings and meetings with an audience at around 4:30 am (Brasília time) with former Italian Prime Minister Massimo D’Alema.
