Trump threatens Russia and can bring peace negotiations to failure

The United States government studies the adoption of new sanctions against Russia later this week, according to information released on Tuesday, 27, by The Wall Street Journal.

Sources linked to US administration said President Donald Trump evaluates different alternatives to expand pressure on Vladimir Putin’s government amid the east European instability scenario.

According to the publication, the proposal under consideration does not include additional sanctions to the Russian banking system, but involves other measures aimed at pressuring Moscow towards concessions in future trading rounds. The decision is still under discussion within the White House and can be announced in the coming days, according to the evolution of the diplomatic board.

White House Secretary Karoline Leavitt has confirmed that the president of the United States maintains the goal of achieving a political understanding for the end of the conflict. “President Trump made it clear that he wants to see a negotiated peace agreement,” Wall Street Journal.
