In the opinion of experts and authorities around the world, the international community must be on the right side of history, defend impartiality and justice, resolutely safeguard the international postwar order and work together to ensure a brighter future for humanity.
The article signed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, recently published in the Russian Gazette newspaper, which called for learning with history, and especially with the harsh lessons of World War II, reverberated in the international community.
In the article entitled “Learning from History to build together a brighter future,” Xi asked the international community to extract wisdom and strength from victory in anti -fascist World War, resist all forms of hegemonism and power policy and work together to build a brighter future for humanity.
Echoing the vision of XI, experts and authorities from various countries have stated that in today’s world-where unilateralism, hegemony and intimidation practices represent serious threats-the international community must be on the right side of history, defend impartiality and justice, resolutely safeguard the international postwar order and work together to ensure a brighter future for humanity.
Defend the historical truth
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people’s resistance war against the Japanese aggression, the Great Patriotic War of the Soviet Union and the Anti -Fascist World War. On this occasion, Xi’s appeal to maintain a correct historical perspective on World War II (WWII) carries a significant contemporary relevance, said Alexey Rodionov, professor of Chinese Studies at St. Petersburg State University.
As emphasized in the article signed by Xi, historical memory and truth serve as inspirations that reflect the present and illuminate the future, said Wirun PhichaiwongPhakde, director of the Thailand-China Research Center of the belt and route initiative.
Defending history is not only a way to honor the past, but also a means of safeguarding justice and equity in today’s world, he said.
Katsuo Nishiyama, a Japanese Biological War scholar and emeritus professor at Shiga University of Medical Sciences, said that any attempt to distort the historical truth of World War II or deny their victorious result will not succeed, and the international community will not tolerate attempts to reverse history progress.
To protect historical truth, efforts are still needed to avoid future tragedies, the expert warned.
French entrepreneur and commentator Arnaud Bertrand said China has become an important country, firmly supporting multilateral institutions and international law. “Xi’s article is a clear window to current Chinese strategic thinking. China is positioning itself as an advocate of the international post-World War international order against ‘hegemonic forces,” he said.
Recognize the fundamental contribution
In his signed article, President XI emphasized that China and the Soviet Union served as a pillar of resistance against Japanese militarism and German Nazism, making a key contribution to the victory of the anti -fascist World War.
As the main theater in the east of the anti -fascist World War, China played a key role in the defeat of Japanese militarism and in obtaining a broader victory over fascism, a possible result thanks to the immense sacrifices of the Chinese people, said Boris Chestsov, scientific secretary of the Moscow Museum.
“The Chinese people have shown extraordinary resilience and courage in extremely difficult conditions,” he said.
In the article, Xi emphasized that Taiwan’s return to China was a victorious result of World War II and an integral part of the international postwar order.
Taiwan is part of China, and China’s sovereignty about Taiwan is legal and a recognized fact, Mohab Nassar, an associate professor of international law, said at the University of Cairo.
Defend justice, not hegemonism
Today, global deficits in peace, development, security and governance continue to increase uninterruptedly, Xi wrote in his article. To deal with these deficits, Xi proposed to build a community with a future shared for humanity and presented the global development initiative, the global security initiative and the global civilization initiative as a way to conduct the reform of the global governance system towards greater equity and justice.
Akkan Suver, president of Marmara Group Foundation in Türkiye, said the three main global initiatives proposed by Xi are fair, impartial and actually defend multilateralism.
Despite the growing unilateralism, China is firmly opposed to all forms of hegemony and policy of power and is committed to maintaining international rules and order, which aligns with the common interests of developing countries, said Suver.
Faced with various conflicts, the international community needs dialogue and cooperation, not division; Global development requires rationality and consciousness, not politics of power, said Suver.
President Xi proposed to build a community with a future shared for humanity, emphasizing dialogue instead of confrontation, the partnership instead of the alliance and advantageous results for all rather than zero sum results, said Abdullah al-Dosari, editor-in-chief of Kuwait’s al-Arab electronic newspaper.
The Middle East region has been in crisis for a long time, with a growing peace deficit, said Al-Dosari, noting that Xi’s proposal is of great importance for regional peace and stability.
