Content creators and soldiers pretend to seek help from Israelis for children in Gaza
Israeli content creators accumulated hundreds of thousands of views in a recent viral trend in Tiktok ridicule the difficulties of Israel’s warfare children in the Gaza Strip.
Young people filming themselves by representatives of a fictional humanitarian organization and call their families and friends to ask for donations to Palestinian children. Those who are called usually react with anger, shouting and cursing before the callings reveal themselves in the videos sent to the platform as humorous games.
The Israeli social media influencer Yakir Bar Zohar shared a video in which he asked for donations to passers -by for children in Gaza.
In the clip, which received thousands of likes and shares, a man agrees with his donation request to “hungry children”, but Bar Zohar is surprised and asks if he is sure he wants to donate “to children who will become terrorists.”
Many videos in this spirit can be found circulating on Tiktok, most were posted by young people and teenagers, but some were made by soldiers.
In a video, shared with the text “We preached a piece in my father (a right -wing extremist) to give money to the children in Gaza,” a soldier asks his father to donate to children in Gaza because “they must be cared for.”
Her father responds, “That they go to hell, along with everyone who contributes to it.” After he launches a series of curses to the “representative”, she reveals her identity and laughs.
In another video posted last week, a young woman asks her mother to make a donation to “innocent children in Gaza.”
Your mother replies: “Innocent children of Gaza? There is no such thing. ” She then wishes the children in Gaza “death in agony, death in great agony, in stoning, that burn all the people there in hell.”
In another video, the father’s father says he would be happy to host Gaza children in his home. He adds that “he will tie them to some post.”
The Israeli War had a devastating impact on Gaza’s children.
Reports indicate that at least 14,500 children were killed, thousands were injured, about 17,000 were unaccompanied or separated from their parents and almost one million were forced to flee from their homes.
In October 2024, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza estimated that more than 35,000 children lost one or both parents.
In addition to the deaths and injuries caused by Israel’s attacks, Palestinians also faced severe hunger and the risk of hunger during the war, in which an expert on the UN concluded that an “intentional and directed hunger campaign” by Israel was “killing more people than bombs and bullets”.
The MEE has previously reported on children and Palestinian babies who have starved or frozen due to lack of food and shelter.
According to OCHA, the UN Humanitarian Agency, more than 3,000 children and 1,000 pregnant women or breastfeeding in Gaza have been diagnosed with acute malnutrition since January.
Although a slight improvement in food consumption was observed during the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, the new Israeli blockade raised fears of severe hunger again.
‘I love this trend’
Most commentators praise the videos as being funny or spirited, or agrees with the statements made by the relatives of those who called.
Several users said they agreed that “there are no innocent [em Gaza]from young to old. ”
A commentator, who received more than 1,000 likes, agreed with a father’s irritated response, saying, “This should be every citizen’s opinion in the country and around the world.”
In the most popular video found by Mee on Tiktok, a young woman asks her father to donate because “we’re demolishing their homes and we need to build for them.”
In response, his father says, “I will go and demolish his house too,” and continues to curs it and threaten it throughout the call.
The video received more than 100,000 likes and over 3,500 comments.
One wrote, “I love this trend, I’m dying,” and another said, “Offensive, racist, humiliating – I’m loving it.”
Although most comments supported videos, recent shares on other social media platforms were criticized as “hateful” and “dehumanizing.”
