Trump: ‘We send Bitcoin to much larger heights’

Donald Trump has re -confirmed his support for Bitcoin during a private telephone conversation with David Bailey, CEO of BTC Inc. According to Bailey, the former US president promised that he will send Bitcoin to “much larger heights” and want to increase America’s lead in the global cryptomarkt.

Trump and Bitcoin: From criticism to support

The conversation between Bailey and Trump is a new chapter in the remarkable shift in Trump’s attitude towards Bitcoin. While he was previously skeptical about cryptocurrencies, Trump has changed his tone. During the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, he explained his support for Bitcoin and promised that America would like to “minen, minten and make all remaining BTC in his own country.” He also announced that he would build a strategic bitcoin reserve and grant grace to Ross Ulbricht, founder of the Silk Road marketplace. He made this promise on January 21, 2025.

Bailey told us about his recent telephone conversation with Trump: “He is 100% with us. We are going to bring Bitcoin to much larger heights and surpass other countries such as China. ” Bailey also confirmed that most topics during the conversation were aimed at Bitcoin and justice, including Ulbricht’s case.

Debate about a national digital asset reserve

Since Trump’s executive order to create a “national digital activa reserve”, discussions have arisen about which cryptocurrencies should be included in this. While proponents of Bitcoin argue for a reserve that focuses exclusively on BTC, Ripple has received criticism because of alleged attempts to diversify the reserve for other digital assets such as XRP. Ripple denies these allegations and states that a broader reserve promotes innovation and economic benefits.

Trump emphasizes that Bitcoin can play a key role in strengthening American technological leadership and energy independence. David Bailey indicated that Trump is determined to win competition with countries such as China, positioning America as a precursor in the cryptomarkt.
