On the third day of attacking Jenin, Israel imposes total siege, performs residents and restricts medical help while Palestinians face travel and terror

On the third day of Israel’s great attack on Jenin, Palestinians in the occupied city of the West Bank face forced displacements, mass arrests, and reports of summary executions by Israeli forces.

The invasion caused widespread fear and difficulties, with severely damaged local infrastructure and access to restricted medical services.

According to Palestinian official news agency Wafa, Israeli forces imposed a complete siege of Jenin’s refugee camp, using special units, drones and biometric and facial recognition systems to monitor and control the area.

Palestinians were expelled to the force of their homes, with Israeli troops ordering them to leave through speakers and pamphlets thrown from the air.

Salah, a resident of the Jenin field, told Middle East Eye the terrifying scene, with drones flying over their homes as Israeli soldiers using speakers, demanded that people leave the place.

He described how biometric recognition technology was used to identify young men for interrogations and additional arrests, often without clear suspicion.

“Those on whom they have records are arrested. You don’t know what happens to them after they are taken – if they are beaten or worse. We have no idea, ”said Salah.

According to Palestinian medical sources, Israeli forces killed at least 13 Palestinians and injured 50 since the attack began on Tuesday morning.

The Palestinian Prisoners Society, a monitoring group, reported that Israeli forces performed summary executions during the operation as a form of “collective punishment” to weaken any kind of resistance.

Meanwhile, medical teams trying to treat injured continues to face extreme restrictions from Israeli forces.

The ambulance movement is being strictly controlled, and health professionals are searched and interrogated before they can provide help.

The Arab48 news vehicle reported that field residents underwent mass arrests, intimate magazines and interrogations.

An elderly man, who recently underwent surgery, shared his experience of being forced to walk long distances under pressure.

“They made us walk despite my condition. I walked almost 1.5 km from 9am to 5pm, ”he told Mee.

He added that there was overcrowding at the entrance of the field, which was surrounded by about 20 Israeli army jeeps.

Impaired coverage and widespread destruction

The journalistic coverage of the raids was severely impaired.

Palestine TV reported that Israeli soldiers forced their team to interrupt live broadcasts, confiscated cameras and telephones, and threatened to break into the building’s building.

Correspondent Amna Bilalo said the soldiers chased them, even after trying to retreat, making it clear that her report was not welcome.

“We hope our office will be invaded at any time,” he added.

Meanwhile, there was a widespread destruction of civil infrastructure in the city. Many houses were vandalized, and the area suffered significant damage.

Mohammad Salah, a resident of the field, said they were already facing difficulties without electricity and running water due to more than 45 days of attacks from the Palestinian Authority (AP) to Jenin before the Israeli foray.

On December 5, AP launched a major security campaign in Jenin, which included siege of the city, shots against unarmed civilians and clashes with local fighters.

AP forces killed several Palestinians and hurt many others for over a month before the Israeli attack began on Tuesday.

“When the Israeli forces made the raid, it was a very difficult situation, especially with the bombing, the dead on the streets and many injured,” Mohammad told Mee.

“All this is aggravated by the fact that we were already exhausted and suffering 45 days ago.”

The Israeli army bombarded and invaded Jenin on Tuesday, starting a major attack on the city of northern West Bank, days after the ceasefire in Gaza was established.

The bombings were accompanied by a large terrestrial offensive of the Israeli forces, which should last several days.

The attacks are part of a broader operation called “Iron Wall”, which involves a large contingent of Israeli troops, special forces and Shin Bet agents.
