Taking care not to mention Junts, Pedro Sánchez attacked this Thursday against the vote against the right-wing majority in Congress that has overturned, among other things, the Minimum Interprofessional Wage, the revaluation of pensions or transport aid. “We live in moments of anti-politics, we take for granted that anything goes. But these votes have very painful effects on citizens as a whole,” he denounced during his visit to Valencia.

“I would demand that the parties that voted against, particularly the PP, reconsider their position,” he continued, to point out that the ball is now in the court of precisely the political groups that overturned the decree. “They are the ones who have to respond to what their position is going to be, those parliamentary groups that did not think about the general interest. “They thought about winning a vote at the expense of the well-being of the people, and it seems to me that it is the worst way to do politics.”

While Sánchez has passed the ball to PP and Junts, the Catalan party has done the same with the President of the Government. Its general secretary, Jordi Turull, has assured that if the Executive separately approves the revaluation of pensions and public transport bonuses, his formation will give them its support in Congress.

The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, accused him a few hours before of wanting to “deceive” the pensioners and of “using them as human shields” and as “hostages” with his “trap decree.” In his opinion, the Government is “blocked” and now “intends to block Spain.” In the same way, he said that the PP says “yes to the public transport bonus and no to the increase in electricity and food through VAT.” And he also says “yes to Valencia and no to the illegal occupation of homes.”

The Government insists on the continuity of the legislature

The message that is repeated from the Moncloa and from the PSOE is that the early call of elections is not an option in the medium term and that Pedro Sánchez will continue with his mandate, despite what happened this Wednesday in Congress.

The most widespread idea in the PSOE, in fact, is that the dialogue with Junts remains unfinished despite the umpteenth slam of the door. And that communication will continue in search of a solution to the numerous negotiations that are ongoing. Regarding some of them, those of immigration powers or the disbursement of pending investments, socialist sources point out that progress could be made soon and that this could lead to a different screen.
