Veteran trader Peter Brandt predicts that the Bitcoin (BTC) price could reach a new all-time high of $150,000 in 2025. He shared this expectation via a post on social media platform
Although Brandt bases his prediction on technical analysis, he also emphasizes the risk of a possible price drop of more than 50%.
Strong support and upside potential
In his post on The largest cryptocurrency has now started a new rally that has brought the price back above $105,000.
While Brandt is optimistic about reaching an all-time high of $150,000 by 2025, he warns that the market could also crash significantly. He says a crash below $57,000 is possible, which would mean a drop of more than 50%.
Warning: Bitcoin correction up to 50% possible
Brandt bases his warning on a Bayesian analysis, pointing to key support levels during a possible correction. These levels are at $74,200 and $57,600, which corresponds to a decline of 28% to 45%. In the worst case, the price could drop further to $50,000, a loss of more than 50%.
According to Brandt, such a correction could be worrying for investors, but may be necessary to pave the way for a historic rally towards a new record. He states:
“The big question in my mind is whether Bitcoin will get another dump before the pump. Remember, markets generally only rise when retail traders become exhausted.”
Optimism over Cardano (ADA)
In addition to his prediction for Bitcoin, Brandt is also optimistic about the altcoin market. He expects Cardano (ADA) to experience a significant breakout. According to him, Cardano has bottomed out and the altcoin will embark on a historic rally in 2025.
