Ripple (XRP) is already one of the best performing cryptocurrencies of the bull market. After years of being described as a stablecoin, the price has skyrocketed in recent months. Yesterday the coin even closed its highest daily candle ever and the next goal is to break the all-time high again – after no less than seven years.
XRP smashes through $3
After Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential elections, XRP is unstoppable. With a view to relaxing crypto regulations and possibly an end to the years-long lawsuit between Ripple and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the price rose by hundreds of percent in a short time.
XRP was one of the big stars in November and December, but the coin has again demanded all the attention in the past week. For example, yesterday you could read in the Ripple news that the XRP price broke through $3 again for the first time in seven years.
The day even ended at a price of $3.14, which has never been so high in the entire history of XRP. The highest daily candle was around $2.74. That has now been largely surpassed, by no less than 14% to be precise.
However, the all-time high of XRP is still a bit higher. On January 4, 2018, the XRP price shot to its all-time high of $3.55.
That means XRP currently needs another 16% increase to get there. At the time of writing, investors pay $3.06 per XRP.
At the beginning of the week, with a bit of luck, you could have picked up Ripple’s coin for less than $2.50. When Bitcoin (BTC) briefly dipped below $90,000 on Monday, XRP reached a low of $2.33. So XRP has made a total increase of no less than 35%.
XRP more popular than BTC on Google
XRP is in the spotlight at the moment. In fact, Google Trend data shows that global searches for XRP surpassed those of Bitcoin on January 15. This is the second time this has happened in the past year. At the end of November, there were also more searches for XRP than Bitcoin on Google.
The ‘XRP army’ is currently not lucky, and Donald Trump still has to come to power. In four days’ time the United States will have its first-ever pro-crypto president.
