The retired men and women are still standing. For months now, a fighting movement has regained strength to confront the brutal adjustment of Milei, which fell on top of a situation that was already terrible.
The different groups that are part of the calls met in recent days to define their fighting agenda. On the one hand, they have mobilized to the PAMI headquarters where they denounced the new cut in medicines. A social crime, in a country where this expense takes up half of a minimum pension. There they demanded that full coverage be returned, but they also targeted the million-dollar profits of the laboratories. “Let them audit the laboratories,” denounced one of the protesters. This was also reported in the program “The class that moves the world” on LID+.
This Wednesday’s rally will take that claim as one of its main flags, but also the increase in salaries. Today the “minimum” barely exceeds 300 thousand pesos with the bonus, when the basket for senior citizens exceeds 900 thousand pesos.
With that contagious force, retirees will be part of the mobilization on a new anniversary of the December 20 events. This Friday, from 5 p.m., an activity will begin that will continue until 7 p.m., called by left-wing, social, combative union, student, popular assemblies and other groups.
