US and Britain bomb Yemen’s Defense Ministry as Israel plans a major attack, intensifying the conflict in the country

US and British military aircraft launched violent attacks in Yemen this Tuesday morning (17), targeting the facilities of the Ministry of Defense of the Sanaa government.

Al Mayadeen correspondent reported that “the attacks targeted the Ministry of Defense headquarters in the Al-Ardi area” in the Yemeni capital Sanaa.

This was the second day in a row that US and UK jets targeted the country. Attacks from the USA and the United Kingdom targeted the Midi district, in the Hajja province, in Yemen, this Monday (16).

The attacks come as Yemeni military operations continue to target sites inside Israel, as well as US warships and Israeli maritime interests in the Red and Arabian Seas.

The Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) launched a drone and missile towards Israel on Monday. They also fired several drones and a missile at three commercial ships escorted by US Navy ships in the Gulf of Aden that day.

“[Em] response to the ongoing massacres against our brothers in Gaza… The missile force carried out a military operation targeting a military target of the Israeli enemy in the occupied area of Yaffa, using a Palestine 2 hypersonic ballistic missile,” Yemeni army spokesman said, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, in a statement on Monday.

Sirens sounded in several areas. The Israeli army said it managed to intercept a missile and a drone coming from Yemen.

Since the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel was signed on November 27, Sanaa forces have continued to attack Israel with drone and missile operations — sometimes carried out in cooperation with the Iraqi resistance.

Israel’s Broadcasting Corporation (KAN) reported on Monday that Tel Aviv “has begun to realize that [o Ansarallah do Iêmen] took responsibility for continuing attacks on Israel.”

The Yemeni army announced several drone operations against Israel on December 13, including one carried out in cooperation with the Iraqi resistance.

KAN quoted a senior Israeli official as saying last week that Tel Aviv is planning a “major attack” against Yemen.

In July this year, Israeli jets launched a massive and deadly attack on Yemen following a Yemeni drone strike in Tel Aviv, which resulted in the death of one Israeli and injuries to ten others.
