The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported this Tuesday, 10, that the Israeli Army “destroyed the main military installations in Syria”, carrying out approximately 310 attacks since the recent fall of President Bashar al-Assad.
The organization, based in the United Kingdom and supported by a network of informants in Syria, reported that targets such as airports, radar systems, weapons depots and military research centers were bombed.
Reports indicate that Israeli operations also caused significant damage to the Syrian Navy, particularly to an air defense unit near the northwest Syrian port of Latakia. This attack occurred in the context of an escalation of hostilities that began three days ago, following the collapse of Assad’s government.
The report details that “with more than 320 airstrikes in 48 hours, Israel has destroyed and is destroying all present and future military capabilities of the Syrian armed forces.”
In addition to the airstrikes, the Observatory reports a significant naval operation, with Israeli Navy patrol boats destroying Syrian ships equipped with missiles in the Minet el-Beida and Latakia areas.
The increase in hostilities generated strong reactions on the international scene. Iran, one of Israel’s main opponents, condemned the attacks, accusing the country of violating international law. Iran’s Foreign Ministry highlighted the Israeli regime’s “violation of the United Nations Charter” and criticized what it described as “silence and inaction by Western countries.”
Furthermore, Iranian spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei drew attention to the need for an immediate response from the UN Security Council to cease Israeli aggression and hold the country accountable for its actions.
Tensions in the region increased, with reports of strong explosions in Damascus shortly after the attacks were reported by the Observatory.
The current scenario reflects the complexity of geopolitics in the region, with Israel seeking to neutralize potential future threats and ensure that advanced weaponry does not fall into the “wrong hands”, as reported by military sources.
The situation remains volatile, with the potential for further escalation depending on international reactions and developments on the ground.
