A column led by the city’s feminist organizations left Plaza Moreno this Monday to demand an end to femicides, trans-transvesticides and lesbicides. It is worth remembering that so far this year, the alarming number of 275 femicides has already been recorded.
And also denounce the adjustment plan of Milei and the governors, which falls especially among women and dissidents. The mobilization also spoke out in defense of legal abortion and comprehensive sexual education.
At the beginning of the march, independent and left-wing organizations gathered in the Multisector of Women and Dissidents of La Plata, Berisso and Ensenada, along with Kirchnerist feminist groups. After a section of the tour, the Multisectorial went to the corner of the Government House where it ended, like every year, with the reading of a document.
In the document read, the convening sectors strongly denounced the policy of the Milei government, which was the only one to vote against the prevention of gender violence in the UN general assembly. While 170 countries voted in favor and another 13 abstained, Argentina was the only one to vote against in a new attack by the government on its agenda against women.
In the Province of Buenos Aires, the government that claims to support the women’s fight was demanded that it is necessary and urgent to have more budget to carry out policies that really confront sexist violence, since, as stated today, the Ministry of Women is completely insufficient to address the problems of the majority of women and dissidents.
