Bitvavo, one of Europe’s largest crypto exchanges, has expanded its offering with a new token: Hamster Kombat (HMSTR). This digital currency is linked to the Web3 game of the same name, which has rapidly gained popularity since its launch in March.
The game, which already has 200 million users, is available on Telegram. Players can earn in-game currency called Hamster Coins and convert them into real-world cryptocurrency.
Although the price of the token has dropped slightly since its launch, Hamster Kombat is still performing strongly with a market cap of almost $450 million. At the time of writing, the token ranks 165th in the rankings of the largest cryptocurrencies.
Gameplay and strategy
In Hamster Kombat, players take on the role of a CEO of a virtual crypto exchange. The game combines strategic elements with the addictive nature of traditional click games such as Cookie Clicker. Players earn Hamster Coins by inviting friends, completing daily challenges and active clicking. These coins can then be used to purchase upgrades that speed up game progress and participate in special events.
The HMSTR token is the central cryptocurrency within the Hamster Kombat ecosystem and is managed by the Hamster Foundation, a non-profit organization responsible for the management and distribution of the coin.
New USDC trading pairs on Bitvavo
In addition to the addition of Hamster Kombat, Bitvavo has also added the stablecoin USDC to its platform. USDC is the first stablecoin to fully comply with the Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) regulations. Issued by Circle, this stablecoin is known for its reliability and transparency. Each USDC is fully backed by US dollars, which sets it apart from competitors such as USDT, whose reserves are less transparent.
With this addition, Bitvavo offers European investors a secure and regulated option for crypto transactions, and further expands its offering with new USDC trading pairs.
