During the 10th BRICS Parliamentary Forum, held in St. Petersburg from July 11 to 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin highlighted the importance of cooperation between the countries of the bloc to expand their constructive influence globally and promote a safer world.

Putin said BRICS seeks to intensify dialogue with all nations interested in strengthening peace and security.

In his speech, Putin stressed that BRICS is a platform that reflects the interests of the Global South and East, facing opposition from the Western “golden billion,” which, according to him, uses force and blackmail to sustain its global dominance.

The Russian president stressed that BRICS meetings are examples of trust, mutual support and open dialogue, contributing to increasing the authority and influence of the organization.

In addition, Putin mentioned that one of the priorities of BRICS is to promote positive changes in the global economy, with special attention to increasing the use of national currencies in trade and investment, and developing secure financial instruments for commercial payments.

The BRICS Parliamentary Forum was also highlighted as an important arena for discussions between parliamentarians from member countries, focusing on the role of parliaments in strengthening international ties and promoting global development and security.
