The Left Daily spoke with Luis Sucher, one of the dismissed workers who has more than 25 years of experience working at the Hospital, who detailed the enormous inconveniences that the dismissals have been causing in the operation of the Hospital. “The dismissals of various professionals from critical areas They undermined the treatment of complex diseases. In addition, they involve the suspension of shifts or its reprogramming with longer waiting times y resenting the attention on guard. Added to this is the lack of delivery of medicines and that there is more and more more demand “In the midst of a harsh winter, respiratory illnesses are on the rise, among other pathologies with which people come to the hospital from all over the country for treatment. Every professional and worker in their area is essential, as we have demonstrated during the pandemic, and even more so now when the social crisis, unemployment and poverty are deepening,” he said.

He also highlighted the problem that this creates in the training of residents: “By firing so many professionals, the resident sector loses its trainers, an issue that makes They are left with a greater workload in very precarious conditions and with very low salaries, harming the quality of carewhich is the responsibility of the Hospital Management and the Government. That is why the residents of the Posadas Hospital, together with all the national hospitals, are also carrying out a 48-hour strike.”

For all these reasons, they warn that they will continue fighting against layoffs and in defense of public health and will carry out a new action: “We invite the community to come this Friday from 8 am to the Posadas Hospital, to surround this fight in defense of public health with solidarity, for the reinstatement of all those fired, for a salary increase for residents and to end the job insecurity that affects the quality of care for our patients.”
