WTF: June 2012 Archives

275x250.jpg What better than sitting out in the garden with a BBQ? Sitting in the middle of a lake with a BBQ, that's what. Meet the Barbecue Dining Boat … yes you read that correctly.

The £30,000 boat - which can provide waterborne cookouts for up to 10 adults - even feature an umbrella should the weather take a turn for the worse.

Made from ABS and featuring a 30-watt electric trolling motor, the BBQ dining boat can maneuver at up to 2.5 mph through calm water for up to eight hours of continuous use.

10 seats are positioned around the boat's 24"-diam. steel charcoal grill each have a recessed plate holder, three beverage holders, and silverware tray.

It's not hard to make a bed, and it doesn't take more than a minute … but that doesn't mean we shouldn't look for complicated technical solutions to the problem of an un-made bed.

The Smart Bed OHEA Automatico is a mechanical bed designed by Spanish firm OHEA, which makes itself whenever you get out. After being put in automatic mode, the bed detects when a sleeper gets out and instantly springs into action.

Mechanical arms pop up on each side of the bed and position the blanket neatly where it should be while the pillows are lifted and then placed back down into position, all in 50 seconds.

Makers say the bed - which is due to be released soon - has safety feature which ensure it cannot operate when there is a person lying there.

Some computer games are best enjoyed in multi-player with friends, but we're glad this isn't one of them. Meet GuitarPee … a urinal-based version of games like Guitar Hero.

Guitar Pee is the creation of Billboard Brasil who went to the effort of converting a urinal into a working instrument before sending it on a tour of bars in São Paulo where they hoped to find.

Drinkers were then encouraged to play/pee the best riffs they could and become a 'Urination Hero'. Users could even log onto a website to listen back to their tune.

This video shows the faces (it's okay, just the faces) of some of the full bladdered would-be musicians doing their things … we just hope no-one rocked out too much and got the floor wet.

When his pet cat Orville was killed in a road accident Dutch artist Bart Jansen could have given him the usual pet burial. He didn't … he turned Orville into a flying work of art.

Working with radio controlled helicopter experts, Jansen a propellers to each of the paws on his deceased and stuffed pussy and Orvillecopter was born.

Currently the dead flying moggy (not a phrase I ever expected to write) can only sustain flight for a few seconds. Though that hasn't stopped it going on show at the Kunstrai art festival in Amsterdam.

Jansen says Orvillecopter will soon be fitted with more powerful engines and larger props. We can't wait to see.

A family in California couldn't believe their eye when they spotted a bear taking a dip in their luxury infinity swimming pool.

This being 2012 they instantly reached for their smartphone and started recording the impromptu swim session, before posting the clip to YouTube.

In the footage - shot by Rachel and Valerie Gasparini - the bear can be seen enjoying the posh pool and appears to be taking in the panoramic views across the Golden State.

"It's really good at swimming," the sisters can be heard saying. "It's like looking out at the view, taking a nice swim you know, what they hell!"
