275x250.jpgMore than a third of women who claim to currently be on a New Year's diet are secret scoffers, it has been found.

A massive 36 per cent of women who say they are watching their waistline, are actually hiding food or eating it in the dark.

Favourite places to stash food - revealed by a poll of 2,000 women - included handbags, under the bed and in clothes drawers.

And the women admitted to secretly eating it while in the car, walking down the street or even on a sun-bed - anywhere they think they won't get caught.

While it was also found the average diet lasts 15 weeks, 28 per cent of women admitted they have only stuck to a diet for 24 hours... some barely last between breakfast and lunch.

275x250.jpgA Chinese shopping centre has built a car park specially designed for women -- with pink walls and wider spaces.

The "Lady Parking" car park is filled spaces which are a metre (3ft) wider than conventional gaps and  has increased signs to help female drivers find their way out.

They have even employed specially trained parking attendants to guide women drivers into and out of, the extra-large spaces.

Bosses at the Wanxiang Tiancheng shopping centre in Shijiazhuang say the "Lady Parking" car park has been designed specifically with women in mind.

The move is aimed at making women more likely to go shopping on their own…  not that it is normally a problem.

275x250.jpgWomen have a better sense of touch because of their smaller hands and fingers, researchers have found.

Boffins tested the tactile acuity and sensitivity of 100 students by pressing progressively narrower parallel grooves against their stationary fingertips.

It was found that people with smaller fingers could discern tighter grooves thanks to having more closely spaced sensory receptors in their tiny digits.

The boffins from McMaster University say that this explains why in previous tests women were found to have more acute sensation in the fingers.

It also explains why women who wear extra-large gloves aren't generally that 'acute'.

275x250.jpgIf you ask a woman what she is thinking about, the chances are it will be shopping, a study has revealed.

The average woman is said to think about shopping 210 times per week, with the average thought lasting around two minutes. That's 7 hours of every week spent thinking about their next dress or new pair of shoes.

And while men are said to think about sex every few seconds, it was only found to cross women's minds 70 times per week (the sort of number a man can notch up in an afternoon.)

A poll of over 1,000 women also found over half of the respondents said that they would also rather buy clothes than have a night between the bed clothes.

Even more depressing for men, 20 percent of women said they had thought about shopping during a moment of passion… so her cries of "yes, yes, YES" could just be her approving of the new range in Marks and Spencer.

275x250.jpgIt’s official, men make better shoppers than women, according to a new study.

Although women go on more shopping trips and spend longer trawling the stores than men, they are most likely to go home empty handed.

The average women spends almost seven hours a month shopping but more than 81 per cent say they often end up going home with things they had no intention of buying instead of what they were actually looking for.

But guys spend just five hours a month walking around the shops, with almost a third saying they always find what they were searching for.

However, that could be because they realise the football is about to begin so they just grab the nearest pair of jeans and get out of there.

275x250.jpgIt's increasingly becoming women who do most of the technological household chores like tuning a TV or setting up a laptop computer, a study has found.

Whilst traditionally men may have taken charge of gadgets and gizmos, women are now becoming more comfortable with tech.

In a survey by Comet, most women said they would happily set up their laptop or freeview box - and only 4% are daunted by installing their own HDTV and 7% a surround sound system.

Half of women also claim they now rely on the latest gadgets like an iPhone or Sky HD to make their lives tic.

13% of the men questioned even confessed they let their wives and girlfriends pick the household computers, DVD players, and televisions… proving they are not really men.

275x250.jpgIt's no surprise that female office workers hate derogatory pet names given to them by some colleagues, but do you know the ones they most despise?

A survey of over 2,500 women found 'babe' was the name they hated being called most, followed by 'love,' 'hun' and 'mate.'

Other disliked pet names - which three quarters of the women polled said they found unacceptable - included; 'chick,' 'Kiddo,' 'Darlin' and 'Poppet'

It also emerged that 93 per cent of women have been called a pet name either by the boss or a male colleague and that 21 percent said it made them feel angry.

But that is nothing… you should hear some of the names the same female office workers reserve for their male bosses.
