It's not hard to make a bed, and it doesn't take more than a minute … but that doesn't mean we shouldn't look for complicated technical solutions to the problem of an un-made bed.

The Smart Bed OHEA Automatico is a mechanical bed designed by Spanish firm OHEA, which makes itself whenever you get out. After being put in automatic mode, the bed detects when a sleeper gets out and instantly springs into action.

Mechanical arms pop up on each side of the bed and position the blanket neatly where it should be while the pillows are lifted and then placed back down into position, all in 50 seconds.

Makers say the bed - which is due to be released soon - has safety feature which ensure it cannot operate when there is a person lying there.

When a Kentucky prisoner broke out of his cell and tried to escape police custody, he picked the wrong door … because he ended up in a packed courtroom.

The man had been put in a holding cell after his hearing at Jefferson County Courthouse in Louisville, but when cops tried to remove another prisoner from the same cell, he decided to make a break for it.

He charges the door and pushed his way past a deputy sheriff before bursting through a door which he hoped would lead him to freedom.

Instead he ended up a courtroom that was in-session (and filled with CCTV cameras) where he was promptly tackled by court bailiffs, and it appears one attorney.

Some computer games are best enjoyed in multi-player with friends, but we're glad this isn't one of them. Meet GuitarPee … a urinal-based version of games like Guitar Hero.

Guitar Pee is the creation of Billboard Brasil who went to the effort of converting a urinal into a working instrument before sending it on a tour of bars in São Paulo where they hoped to find.

Drinkers were then encouraged to play/pee the best riffs they could and become a 'Urination Hero'. Users could even log onto a website to listen back to their tune.

This video shows the faces (it's okay, just the faces) of some of the full bladdered would-be musicians doing their things … we just hope no-one rocked out too much and got the floor wet.

The problem with being the fastest man in the world is that sometimes it takes time to slow down … like when Usain Bolt recently crashed into a flowergirl at end of 100m sprint.

Bolt had just won the race at the Diamond League in Oslo with a time of 9.79 seconds when he found himself hurtling towards a flowergirl - there to give the gift to winners.

Despite still moving at some speed, the Jamaican did his best not to knock the blonde girl to the floor, somehow holding her up as he continued to move.

275x250.jpg Teachers are often presented with dubious-looking notes to explain the absence of a pupil. But while some kids try to get away with writing their own excuse notes, young Tyler Sullivan got one from US President Barack Obama.

The 11-year-old pupil has skipped a day of school to see Obama visit Honeywell factory in Minnesota and managed to get a seat in the front row.

After hearing Obama's speech, Sullivan even got to shake the hand of the president, who asked him about skipping class to be there.

But rather than tell the lad off for missing school, Obama used his official presidential notepad to write a signed note to the teacher saying: "Mr Ackerman -- Please excuse Tyler... He was with me! Barack Obama."

When his pet cat Orville was killed in a road accident Dutch artist Bart Jansen could have given him the usual pet burial. He didn't … he turned Orville into a flying work of art.

Working with radio controlled helicopter experts, Jansen a propellers to each of the paws on his deceased and stuffed pussy and Orvillecopter was born.

Currently the dead flying moggy (not a phrase I ever expected to write) can only sustain flight for a few seconds. Though that hasn't stopped it going on show at the Kunstrai art festival in Amsterdam.

Jansen says Orvillecopter will soon be fitted with more powerful engines and larger props. We can't wait to see.
