A pedestrian in Brazil had a rather lucky escape when a car swerved off the road and smashed into her -- only for her to get up seconds later uninjured.

As this CCTV footage shows, the woman had been walking in from of a supermarket in Nova Andradina when the near death incident happened.

The white VW Beetle can be seen swerving to miss a motorbike on a junction and then careering off the road and towards the unsuspecting woman who is knocked off her feet.

During the accident the driver of the car was also thrown from his vehicle and while the worst would have been expected, both he and the woman are seen standing seemingly unharmed in the video.

A shocking crash which saw an SUV flip over twice and crash into a car on a gas station forecourt has been caught on CCTV.

The accident happened recently in Texas and as can be seen from this clip, two men who were walking across the garage forecourt are lucky to be alive.

That's because this SUV apparently clipped the sidewalk and was sent into the air rolling twice before crashing into another car and missing them by inches.

Amazingly neither of the men were injured in the accident, and even more amazingly the crash driver is also said to have escapes relatively unscathed… the same can't be said for his SUV.

275x250.jpgBrits planning on hiring a car while on holiday abroad this summer are being advised to swot-up on some of the odd driving laws around the world before jetting off.

It's hoped that a series of guides warning people about some of the stranger laws they need to abide by will reduce the number of Brits having a run-in with the police.

For example drivers in Spain should know they are required to carry an extra pair of specs when driving and female motorists in California are prohibited from wearing a dressing gown behind the wheel.

In Cyprus drinking anything (even water) whilst on the move is prohibited and in Vienna it’s prohibited to use your horn within the city.

But our favourite warning goes to anyone driving in Romania or Russia, where it's apparently against the law to drive a dirty vehicle.

Police in Detroit have released dash-cam footage of a driver using his feet as brakes - à la Fred Flintstone - after his pickup truck suffered faulty brakes.

Officers had started following the 24-year-old driver after receiving reports of his odd behaviour from other motorists who said he was reaching speeds of 70kmh.

After trying unsuccessfully to pull him over, the pickup truck eventually came to a standstill after smashing into several other cars at a junction.

The idiot danger driver is said to have then told police he was aware his brakes weren't working and he was trying to get home to fix them. Looks like he's as bright as Fred Flintstone too.

An Australian man has been banned from driving for ten months after he was caught drink driving on a motorised beer cooler full of booze.

23-year-old Chris Petrie was pulled over by officers when they saw him driving along on the odd contraption and presumably looking a little bit worse for wear.

Sure enough Petrie, who'd been doing 20km per hour, tested over the limit - he'd drunk a few while building the £400 Esky device which he'd bought online - and was arrested.

The drink driver said he did not realise the motorised beer cooler could be classified as a motor vehicle and therefore didn't think he could be arrested. He was wrong.

275x250.jpg The mayor of the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius is said to have become so angry at people illegally parking flash cars in cycle lanes that he's started driving over them in a tank.

43-year-old Arturas Zuokas took the unusual measure after noticing that drivers of Ferraris, Rolls Royces and Mercedes were parking wherever they wanted simply paying fines.

Not wanting to let them think they're above the law, the zany politician (and keen cyclist) hired an armoured vehicle to get his own back.

He then proceeded to drive over the top of a illegally parked Mercedes, leaving it crushed and triumphantly shouting "That's what will happen if you park your car illegally!"

A US family got the shock of their lives when a snake slithered out of the bonnet of their car… as they were doing 65mph down the highway.

Rachel and Tony Fisher had been driving along in Memphis when all of a sudden a snake appeared on their windscreen -- obviously prompting them to reach for the video camera.

In the resulting footage, shot by Tony as Rachel drove, the snake can be seen flapping about on the glass as the kids in the back of the car shout that they want to see it.

For several minutes the snake moved along the bonnet of the speeding car before getting to the wing mirror on the driver's side and falling off… who needs a Ferrari prancing horse when you can have a live snake.
