Tattoos on women are mens biggest turn-off … women don't like beards

275x250.jpg They may be a passion for the likes of Cheryl Cole, Lana Del Ray and Lady Gaga but female tattoos have been voted the biggest turn-off for men - according to the latest poll.

The survey, polled 500 people asking them to state their gender and chose their top five turn-offs when meeting someone of the opposite sex.

Thirty seven per cent of males listed tattoos as their number one turn-off with the body art appearing in more than three quarters (78%) of the male top five.

In contrast women were fairly ambivalent about tattoos with just over one in ten (13%) viewing them as highly unattractive on a man.

Instead the largest romance-killer for women was beards, with a third of those polled voting face fur top spot on their list.
Bad breath came second with more than a quarter (27%) identifying it as their number one no-go. This was also the case for men of whom 28% cited halitosis as their top gripe when it came to dating women.

Third on the male list was smoking with 17% of the respondents highlighting it as their biggest no-no when dating. Perhaps surprisingly the habit proved to be a top turn-off for just 11% of women, ranking fifth on their list.

A spokesperson for ECigaretteDirect.co.uk, which commissioned the poll, commented: “Women getting tattoos is becoming increasingly common in today’s society. Most top female celebs seem to have at least one and we even saw plenty of ink at Royal Ascot this year.

“However, whilst many women want to get a tattoo it seems most men dislike the idea finding them garish and un-feminine.

“Once applied tattoos are with the wearer for life which may explain why the ranked higher than things like bad breath and smoking which can be changed."
