Curry-scented fragrances set to go on sale

275x250.jpgA perfumery firm are currently in the process of producing a bizarre range of curry-scented fragrances.

Five fragrances for men and women are being made including: korma, tikka massala, madras, vindaloo and rogan josh.

Each of the perfumes will use ingredients from the relevant curry to  give a 'sense' of it - but will not be quite like splashing a vindaloo behind your ears.

Makers say it's hoped the perfumes - which should go on sale after the summer - will also have a side effect of boosting the number of people going out for  a curry.

What do you think, would you like to dab on a bit of madras? What other foods do you think would work as a perfume? Let us know in the comments.
A spokesperson for perfumery Essentially Me said: "Although we’ve created some unique fragrances in the past, this brief is potentially one of the most interesting.

"The idea of curry fragrances might sound strange at first but many current natural perfumes are created using aromatic ingredients often found in Indian food, such as coriander, celery seed and cinnamon leaf."

A spokesperson for the British Curry Club's Chaat! magazine, which commissioned the smells, added: "We all know that the scent of food is a powerful motivator when it comes to wanting to eat it, so we’re hoping that when the fragrances are available to purchase, potentially after summer, we’ll see a spike in members of the public heading to their local Indian restaurant or ordering takeaway."
