Angry man eats £9,000 winning scratch card
An airline passenger who had a winning €10,000 scratch card proceeded to eat it after being told he could not have the cash immediately.The man had been flying from Krakow to East Midlands Airport when he scratched off the foil to reveal that his Ryanair card was worth €10,000.
This was confirmed by staff who congratulated him and told him how to collect the jackpot -- but he wasn't having any of it.
He wanted the cash immediately and in an odd act of frustration he stuffed the card in his mouth and began to chew it. By destroying the card he instantly lost any chance of claiming the prize money.
Ryanair say the cash will now be donated to charity… possibly an anger management or eating disorder one.
Ryanair’s Stephen McNamara said of the scratch cards: "Passengers have always been delighted to claim their large cash prizes after returning home.
"Unfortunately our latest winner felt that we should have his €10,000 prize kicking around on the aircraft."
