Pokémon fan sets new collection world record
A 21-year-old woman has officially been recognised as the biggest collector of Pokémon memorabilia in the world, having accumulated 12,113 items.Lisa Courtney from says her giant collection - amassed over 13 years - is so big it fills her family's entire house.
She is so obsessed with the Pokémon that she even spent her 21st birthday in Japan, the birthplace of the successful Nintendo video-game series.
The Pokémon collection earns Lisa a place in the newly released Guinness World Records 2010 Gamer’s Edition -- and the hearts of geeks everywhere.
Speaking of her record Lisa said: "My family have been incredibly supportive considering the collection takes up the whole house, including my mother's room! "I've even named the room where my main collection resides 'Pokémon Centre Europe!'"
"To be in the new Gamer's Edition and to hold a world record for something you feel so passionate about is just an indescribable feeling."
