Man makes £50,000 per year by wearing T-shirts
Wearing a different T-shirt each day has netted a US man £50,000 in the last year, after he decided to turn himself into a human billboard.Jason Sadler, 27, a former marketing man from Florida hit upon the idea of charging companies to wear t-shirts with their around this time last year.
He set up the website iwearyourshirt.com and offered to hire out his torso by the day. On January 1st he would charge one dollar, on the January 2nd it would be two dollars right the way to December 31 when it would be $365.
He would then wear the shirt all day including in photos posted to Flickr and videos uploaded on YouTube.
Amazingly his idea took off and he sold all dates in 2009, with additional sponsorship he pocketed £50,000… not bad for getting dressed in a morning.
Speaking of his odd idea Jason said: "I knew that virtually all companies made t-shirts to promote themselves and also knew that a good amount of them didn't have time to create a social media presence.
"I figured I could charge them a small fee, wear their shirts and give them some social media exposure.
"I've worn shirts for small companies, big corporations, mom & pop blogs, artists and lots of others. Some of the bigger names I wore shirts for are Zappos.com, LifeLock.com, Bill Cosby, Turbo Tax, Gary Vaynerchuk and many more.
"I've definitely had some funny shirts to wear though.... from women's tank tops, feather boas, an apron and a few companies even paid me to go shirtless for a day.
So how will Jason improve on his idea for 2010? He plans to sell days for twice the price -- and he's already sold 235 days. We're guessing December is still free though.
