Commuters on the London Underdround were left red-faced when the sounds of a couple having sex was played out over a station's loudspeaker system.

Rather than the normal messages of train delays, or warning about minding the gap, travellers heard the noises of an apparently over amorous couple.

The moans and groans echoed around West Ham station in east London during rush hour on Thursday evening - much to the embarrassment of those waiting on the platform.

A spokesperson for Transport for London confirmed the sexual noises were heard through the tannoy - but added that they didn't know where they came from.

They added that the broadcast - which is thought have been interference with the public address system - did not feature TFL staff… they don't enjoy work that much.
