Michael Jackson gets EastEnders tribute
The BBC filmed an additional scene which was slotted into soap opera EastEnders, making reference to the death of Michael Jackson.Producers say the news has had such an impact worldwide, that it would make the show more realistic if characters were talking about what had happened.
As a result they recorded a scene where characters Denise Wicks and Patrick Trueman are seen discussing the news - it was added into the show broadcast on Friday.
In the past show bosses have shot additional scenes to include the election of US President Barack Obama and England's progress in the World Cup.
The pop legend died, aged 50 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his Los Angeles home on Thursday 25 June.
Diederick Santer, EastEnders Executive Producer, said: "There are some news stories and events which get everyone talking, and this is one of them.
"Given the quick turnaround, it's only a small scene, but I hope it reflects to some extent the impact Michael Jackson's death has had"
