Ask Jeeves brings back the butler

200x190.jpgInternet search engine Ask.co.uk has reintroduced it's quintessentially English butler - an icon of the dotcom boom - after ditching him in 2006.

Bosses of the site, which will revert to its original name of "Ask Jeeves" claim he was brought back due to public demand.

Jeeves has undergone a 3D makeover, complete with a Gieves and Hawkes suit, and even has profiles on social networking sites Facebook and Twitter.

It is hoped a TV multimillion pound advertising campaign will get more people asking Jeeves questions ... just don't ask him "Why are you not as good as Google?"
Speaking on the Ask.co.uk site Jeeves said of his three year absence "I popped out three years ago to travel the world in a quest for knowledge and I've returned to Blighty armed with answers."

"Back in 2006 you wanted to know about spending money, now you want to know about saving it."

Jeeves was originally created in 1997 as the face of internet searches and Ask Jeeves was for many people the first search engine they used.
