While private buyers are paying £300,000 for properties in the same development overlooking Poole Harbour, Dorset council tenants are offered them for the cut-down price.

Because of government legislation house developer Bryant Homes was only given permission to build the 340 nome complex if 115 were made for social or affordable housing.

A builder on the site said: "These have got to be the best council flats anywhere in Britain. The view is amazing and for £75 they are a bargain.
