Parents win right to name son Lego

200x190.jpgLego-mad parents in Sweden have won the right to name their son after the famous coloured plastic bricks.

In Sweden, parents are banned from giving their children a name which is deemed offensive, unsuitable or inappropriate - also prohibited are names which could embarrass the people they are given to.

The parents had been told the name Lego was a no-no but they appealed to the Swedish Administrative Court of Appeals and had the ruling overturned.

Little Lego may have a unique name - unless he is in a toy store - but other odd names which have not been allowed include, a boy named Metallica, a girl called Elvis.

In 1996 parents even tried to name their son  Brfxxccxxmnpcccclllmmnprxvclmnckssqlbb11116 (pronounced Albin) in protest at the naming law.
