Doner kebabs could kill, warn scientists
The levels of fat in doner kebabs are so high that eating just TWO in a week could kill, experts claim.A sample of take-aways showed the snack, traditionally eaten at the end of a evenings drinking, contained 111g of fat, that's the same as a wine glass filled with cooking oil.
Nutritionists from Portsmouth Hospitals Trust say doner kababs can be so saturated with fat that eating two each week could lead to a heart attack within 10 years.
Hampshire Scientific Service tested 150 takeaways from across the South with the doner coming out as worst, best for fat was char siu pork and the best for salt was cod and chips.
